RESPIREZ VERRE
Artefact - satigny - 2014
This experimental work was commissioned by the district of Satigny in Switzerland to encourage the inhabitants to be more aware of recycling.
Enlisting famous wine growers from the region, I decide to salvage the wine bottles and broke them into fragments to create a colored mosaic wall situated in one of the main village streets. The glass mosaic had a botanic appearance reminiscent of the vines themselves. I wanted to adorn the wall in such a way that it would be homage to nature and the pleasure she freely gives us.
I worked on this installation, every day for a month. The title is a ecological word play using the alluding to the double meaning of « verre » (glass) and « vert » (green).
